Our Story

Since 1979, Embassy Ingredients has been an innovative business partner manufacturing and distributing products for the food industry. The founder, Giannangelo Brambilla started the family business – then named Embassy Food and Supply Ltd. – to service hotels and restaurants in the Toronto, Ontario area.

Martino Brambilla became owner and President in 1981 at the age of 17. He changed the name of the business to Embassy Food Specialties Ltd. and shifted the primary focus of the business to flavors.

Making the Profit 100 List

In 1992, the company began developing and manufacturing bakery mixes and bases – increasing its national presence in the bakery industry. The unique strategy of combining expertise in flavor with bakery ingredient formulation and manufacturing was very successful. Following significant growth, Embassy was featured in Profit magazine’s “Profit 100” list of Canada’s fastest growing companies.


In 2004, Embassy moved into a new custom-designed manufacturing facility outside of Toronto, Ontario. The new facility was built to accommodate Embassy’s exceptional growth and to meet BRC quality assurance standards, equipped with state-of-the-art Bakery and Flavor labs. In 2010, Embassy expanded internationally into Mexico by exporting technology through a license agreement with Lallemand Mexico.

In 2018, Embassy evolved once again. The business name was changed to Embassy Ingredients Ltd. to more accurately reflect its flavor and bakery capabilities.

Embassy has plans to continue expansion in 2019 through the opening of a manufacturing facility in the USA.
